JAPAN by Dario Branco

What an amazing three weeks I had in Japan.

It is hard to say anything new or unexpected about Japan other than you have to go there to experience for yourself.

Still, I am going to try to tell you about my overall experience. I will try it to keep it nice and quick for now and over time tell you how I traveled around Japan.

Between March and July: Paris, Rome and Porto by Dario Branco

It has been a while since the last post. I know I said I would give my final thoughts on my trip to Switzerland but I am saving it for another time.

Meanwhile, i have been so busy with work that even if I wanted to write about Switzerland, I couldn't because I have no time.

Finally, I managed a few minutes to write about my previous months.

Phuket by Dario Branco

Maybe the way I traveled across Thailand was not the best one, meaning starting in Bangkok, go to Chiang Mai, back to Bangkok to get to Phuket and finish again in Bangkok. But it was the cheapest way and more efficient I found.

Now that I had experienced Chiang Mai it was time to get to Phuket. It was also time to be on my own. My friend had decided to visit Cambodia instead. I was a bit jealous but i don't regret staying in Thailand.

Cabo Espichel by Dario Branco

Continuing traveling in Portugal, last Monday, it was time to get to Cabo Espichel. It wasn't an easy and relaxing trip but it was fun in the end. I learned a few things along the way about camping alone.

Vila Nova de Milfontes - Post Processing by Dario Branco

It took me three tries to finally achieve a result I liked in the photo I made in Vila Nova de Milfontes.

For me, the main challenge was to blend the sky with the other exposures without creating any weird effects, mostly chromatic aberrations, and aliasing.

I am still learning how to blend several exposures.

Vila Nova de Milfontes by Dario Branco

Something that I always felt guilty of, is that I don't know Portugal as well as I should. Is my country after all.

Last year i wrote down a list of places i wanted to visit in Portugal. Since then, that list is getting bigger, more diverse and not only focused in Portugal. The first place I wrote down on it was Vila Nova de Milfontes. It has been a place i wanted to go to make photos ever since i started photographing.

Cinque Terre by Dario Branco

First of all, I want to apologize for being offline the last few weeks but now I am back for good.

Second, time to talk about my trip to Cinque Terre.

It is useless to say that Cinque Terre, a group of five small towns, Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare, is one of the most picturesque places in the world. At first, I wanted to go and spend one day at each town but soon I realized that I could see all of them in three days. Four days the most if I took one day to hike the Via del Amore and Sentiero Azzurro.

Cabo Raso Post Processing by Dario Branco

Last week I wrote about my motivation and process for going out and make Cabo Raso's photos.

Now it is time to show how I did the post processing. Before I dive in I want to say that there is no right or wrong way to do it. I believe everyone has a subjective look when it comes to photography. This is how I usually do things. Your results may vary.

Cabo Raso by Dario Branco

Since everything is quiet around here, I have been struggling to photograph and write something useful.

A few days ago after a few hours of thinking and searching, I decided to go back to a place I been a few years to redo an old photo and hopefully do a few more.

The Canon 5D Mark III by Dario Branco

I had to start this blog talking about my new X100T. I love the camera even with all the flaws. It has made me fall in love with photography again.

With that said, not talking about my main camera would not describe me and the kind of photography i do or want to do.

Spoiler Alert: I am not going to talk about technical and nerdy stuff.
